🌟 A Warm Welcome to Minnesota!

We are delighted to welcome our international colleagues to the state of Minnesota—known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” a hub of agricultural innovation, and home to globally recognized research and industry.

Minneapolis, part of the dynamic Twin Cities region, offers a vibrant cultural scene, beautiful natural surroundings, and a strong tradition of scientific collaboration. We look forward to sharing both Midwestern hospitality and meaningful dialogue as we work together toward advancing ammonia energy for a sustainable future.

Green ammonia is rapidly emerging as a pivotal energy vector for decarbonizing the global economy.  Yet large-scale adoption remains challenged by issues in PRODUCTION, STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION, UTILIZATION, ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT and SAFETY. Continued innovation and research are essential to unlock its full potential and ensure its seamless integration into future sustainable energy systems.

The Symposium on Ammonia Energy (SoAE) is the premier international forum for sharing and discussing the latest scientific and engineering developments in ammonia energy.

The University of Minnesota is proud to host the 4th SoAE in Minneapolis, MN, bringing together researchers and industry leaders from across the globe.  This year's symposium will place special emphasis on ammonia as a fuel for stationary power generation and off-highway transportation applications - including agriculture and mining - industries that hold a critical presence in Minnesota and surrounding U.S. states.

Land Acknowledgement

The University of Minnesota campuses were built on the traditional homelands of the Dakota and Ojibwe, and scores of other Indigenous peoples who have walked on these lands from time immemorial. It is important to acknowledge the peoples on whose land we live, learn, and work as we seek to improve and strengthen our relations with our tribal nations. We also acknowledge that words are not enough. We must ensure that our institution provides support, resources, and programs that increase access to all aspects of higher education for our American Indian students, staff, faculty, and community members.
